Are You Looking For The Moon?

The yew tree points up, it has a Gothic shape.
The eyes lift after it and find the moon.
-Sylvia Plath

It is no coincidence that I chose the title of the healing work and accompanying almanac as ‘Y&EW’.
I am drawn to the Yew Tree. A remote energetic connection that spans an ocean.
I have never physically touched the Yew, nor tangled myself in its branching roots.
I first knew of it through my co-striding Welshman and was pleased receiving
his personal view of the Yew in a local churchyard.
It shelters souls.
In this respect, it is the earthly counterpart of the Moon, whose ancient visage inspired
great poets to speak of her elysian fields where rested great gods, goddesses, and
brilliant souls.
The theme is not to provoke fear or speculate on hauntings.
But to encourage the embrace of a dark moon.
The New Moon in her personal house of Cancer.
The dark moon mysteriously connecting with the dark god, Pluto.
All within the Solstice Gate, the longest daylight of a Solar Year.
It is as if she embraces the mask of light to tell her secrets.
